this one was fun! 

i had a good time, but it wasn’t one of my favorites. the conflict was a little messy in a fun but predictable way. the nature of their relationship, with it being a lie the entire time basically, made it hard to really invest in because i knew the reveal and fight and breakup was inevitable. but i still enjoyed the characters! eden finley’s writing has definitely improved since these books though

Law (Lawson) and Reid
PLEASE be aware that this summary/review is meant for my own purposes in order to help me recall this book and definitely has spoilers. It is in no way a reflection of what I think anyone else will like or want out of a book. It is simply a memory aid and a rough voice-to-text which is completely unedited/reviewed for errors. Read at your own discretion. 

Law poses as his twin brother Anders to back out if a blind date with Reid (Anders was a victim of domestic violence 5 years before and can't deal with confrontation). But Law is drawn to Reid and instead of ending the date and up going home with him. Law is bisexual but has not told anyone who has never been with a man because it had never really come up before. He leaves soon after and figures it was a quick hook up but when Reed shows up to his dojo with his school kids that he teaches law has to meet him as himself. Law and Reid become friends but Law continues to show up at Reed's house and pose as Anders to hook up with him. He knows it is going to blow up but can't seem to make himself stop. There is a subplot of one of the students getting beat up by his dad and both read and law help him and report to the police. The whole thing blows up when both Reed and Anders show up at the dojo at the same time and Reed sees what is happening when he realizes he has never actually met Anders. As a sidenote, Reid appears to be one of the only people who can tell the twins apart. Of course there are hurt feelings and all sorts of not seeing each other but eventually law begs for forgiveness and Reid forgives him.

This book is a little more angsty than Eden's usual books what with the domestic violence subplot and deception. I liked both of these characters and overall the book was a good and entertaining read.

Unwritten Law by Eden Finley will have your head spinning. Complex, hard situations, multi-dimensional characters, and steamy. Eden Finley has delvered another great read.

I've always wondered what I would be like to be a twin, and if it is anything like Law deals with, not sure I'd want one. LOL. That said, the relationship between Law and Anders is deep and full of emotional ties that bind them together. And when Law meets Reed, he is pulled in another direction, but he can't leave his brother behind. The story is complex and realistic, and it broke my heart more than once.

4.5 stars for Unwritten Law and I suggest you one click this story today! Well-written with a head spinning plot, you are going to fall in love with all of the characters and the story. I can't wait for book 2!

I really love secret-identity tropes, and the swapped-twins subcategory is so ripe with good angst. This book does a really good job with that

Sketchy main character that I wasn’t sure would be able to redeem himself/wasn’t sure if he deserved redemption. Story wasn’t compelling enough to find out.
