This was genuinely so fucking wild. It's like a modern American Psycho set around the power imbalance women have.

The character in general is just unlikeable, and that kinda makes me dislike the book. There's not much character development, she remains narcissistic and the way she talks about herself is "pick me" and ahhh.

I do like the story though, it did make me want to read on (mostly in the hopes that SOMEONE would humble the protagonist) Most of my reading of this was done in a 2hr time-blindness read between midnight and 2am.

Idk why this is listed as horror because it’s not. It’s a good book, but not what I was looking for. Was mostly psychological. I found myself mostly just hating and psychoanalyzing the main character. I still don’t understand what the point of the book was. Gave it a four because it somehow managed to be interesting without having a true plot. Lots of drugs and self destruction.

Told as a horror novel, Clark dives into how difficult it is to leave a mark on the world as a woman. Following the internal monologue of a diabolical narcissist on her rampage to make a mark, Clark leaves a heavy imagery underneath on the struggle to break from gender norms as a woman without being as brutal and vicious as the opposite sex.
A truly wild read. It won’t be for everyone, but I think it’s worth the read.
