Toby is a genius and he is working night and day and running on empty to do everything he can to help his family. He may be known as Doctor Love but he has no time for love himself. He is has so much love to give and with everything he is going through you can see how much he cares and how supportive and protective he is of those he cares about. Joanna was very closed off throughout a majority of the story. She continuously would push Toby away and just was very secretive. Even after finishing I’m still not sure how I feel about her.

There is a lot of push and pull between Toby and Jo. They have a connection and there is no doubt there is chemistry between them.

The story is told completely from Toby’s POV, which I loved, but I also found myself wishing that there was a little bit of Joanna’s POV mixed in to give some more insight into her side of things.

If you’re looking for a slow burn, friends to lovers, roommates to lovers, opposites attract this is one to check out.

This book was way too cheese and unrealistic! Therefore my 3 star rating. Also, it was kind of insta love?! Idk it just did not do it for me.

It's very rare to read a romance story exclusively from the male pov. Kudos to the author for that!
But unfortunately, in this book, this took a little something out of it for me. I wanted to know Joana better, especially after getting glimpses of her in the previous book. She seemed to lead such an interesting life, and even in this book, she always has long stories that never get told. Honestly, this bummed me out.
And the AI thing did not work for me. Jeeves's parlance was more human than AI. I could not help comparing it with the AI in J.D.Robb's In Death series, and JARVIS in Marvel (before he embodied a human).
As much as Doctor Love did not do it for me, I absolutely loved Mister Romance and Doctor Feelgood.

I was most invested in Toby's story, moderately invested in Asha's, and least invested in Eden's. Toby, as a character, was absolutely hilarious and relatable. His troubles, emotions, feelings, everything was clear and to the point. I didn't like Joanna too much, to be honest, but I could understand her reasoning for lying about everything from her name to the reasons behind her actions.

Jeeves, of course, was perfect especially when he was starting to think more like a human, but also when he hit Toby in the balls with the water pressure during his shower. For those of you worried about why he was hitting poor, innocent Toby, let me tell you that Jeeves is the sassy, malfunctioning AI installed in Joanna's apartment.

The little mentions of Eden and Asha getting their happily ever afters during the course of this book were also cute. Jake didn't have much of a cameo, but I liked Max's cameos enough.

One thing I just couldn't understand was WHY ON EARTH IS TOBY WEARING A SUIT ON THE COVER. It's just not him. You'd know that by just reading the book that he's got a huge hard-on for soft cardigans - and that he has a collection of them, including 'semi-formal' cardigans, one which has stripes too.

Mentions of his cardigans include:

Oh, and I also have a kickass collection of cardigans, so there’s that.

As passionate as I am about cardigans...

Eden tugs at the sleeve of my cardigan.

“I have several semi-formal cardigans, but I’m pretty sure that’s not the look you’re going for.”
Max smiles when Eden scoffs, “Babe, there’s no such thing as a semiformal cardigan. Trust me.”
I scowl and make a mental note to send her a picture of the cashmere pinstriped number I found in a thrift store for twenty bucks. Of course, that was a while ago, when I had a spare twenty just laying around, waiting to be spent on novelty cardigans, willy-nilly.

While Joanna chats with a sharply dressed male staff member, I spy a particularly nice cardigan on a nearby shelf and grab it. It’s dark grey and as soft as a kitten, but my jaw falls on the floor when I see the price tag.
“Oh, fuck me gently.”
Joanna and the staff member look over, and I don’t miss the faint scowl on the guy’s face.
“Sorry,” I say. “That was rude. I meant fornicate me gently. If you please."

Before vacating, I grab two bread rolls from the basket on the table and shove them into my cardigan pockets.

I tend to don a variation of the same clothing combination every day, namely pants plus a T-shirt and cardigan.

I shove in everything except my most precious cardigans and start the cycle.

Finally, I rinse and wring out my cardigans, and then lay them flat on one of the tables to dry.

Who’s this little guy?” She picks up a small, knitted penguin that was lying beside it.
“That’s not mine. It must be a prop for the Romance Central crew.”
She turns it around, so I can see it. “But it’s wearing a tiny cardigan with Toby embroidered on the front.”
Goddammit, Grandma, why did you have to personalize Mister Puffin?
I grab it from her and shove him back into the duffle. I may not sleep with him anymore, but having him with me still gives a sense of security.

I finish up with my shoes and socks and grab my lucky first-date cardigan before striding out to the elevator.

I button my jeans and pull on a T-shirt and cardigan.

I am a fan of cringey-titles in romance novels. Apparently. Leisa Rayven did it again.

Toby and Johanna's story is one I enjoyed, I missed Leisa Rayven's books, so I was eager to read this new one. I love that it was told from Toby's POV, it was certainly refreshing after a lot of Dual POV's, the storyline is good, but not a new idea, Toby designs an app to help people find love, and well, you know the rest, however, I liked that Joanna was into computer systems as well and that it was a slow burn. This made me enjoy it, then it got better when all the legal battles began. I always love the author's writing and I totally recommend you read all of her previous books.

ARC received for an honest review

Yay yay yay! New words from Leisa Rayven!

Below is a visual of me reading about Toby

I mean, who doesn't love a cardigan wearing geek?

Joanna though, she is riddle wrapped in a mystery covered in enigma. She frustrated me so much, her push/pull with Toby had me yelling at my ereader telling him run run run just as fast as he can. The way she was throwing a change at real, soul crushing love because of a number - ugh.. But she did get better by the end.

I loved seeing the couples from the first two books in the series (though, I cannot lie, I didn't remember much about them at first, but it all came back to me quickly)

I laughted, I yelled, I shed a tear or two.. and loved every second of it.

Toby Jenner - making cardigans sexy again.

ARC kindly received for an honest review.

It's been ages since we've had a book from Leisa Rayven, and it was lovely to be back with her words again. I enjoyed this book. Toby and Jo were great. The concept behind Toby's app was also great, and made me wonder about real life versions of it and if there are any.

Jo was frustrating at times, as was the situation between her and Toby, but I just couldn't wait to see how it would play out, and hope for the outcome I wanted. Toby was damn loveable. Such a great guy. I loved these characters and the way their story and the story they were also following unfolded. To say I was surprised by a couple of things isn't wrong.

Definitely recommend this one, and I hope we get more from the author soon!
