This was amazingly brilliant. I’m no stranger to this author’s work being a fan of the Psy-Changeling series. But even that took me a couple of years to get into. Bookish friends on Bookstagram have been trying to get me to try this series for years but when I saw that the first 2-3 books featured the same main characters, I didn’t think I would like it. I was wrong! I definitely need more of Elena and Raphael! The chemistry is fantastic, the banter entertaining, the world building fabulous, the action explosive, the secondary characters compelling, the lead characters, well-developped and intriguing and leaving you wanting to know more about them. For such a well-developed world, the story never felt draggy as first books in these sorts of fantasy series can be. I can’t wait to start the next book- this was an unexpected delight!

Angels' Blood is a story about a guild hunter named Elena who is hired by an archangel, named Raphael. Elena's task is to to hunt down a rouge and murderous archangel, named Uram. This is an adult paranormal romance, so there's violence and sex and I enjoyed most of it.

There was one line that was misogynistic and I didn't really like that. The main character constantly made poor decisions that put herself in danger and that was really tiresome. Other than those two things, I enjoyed everything else in this book.

This book has action, spicy scenes, and funny banter between the main character and her love interest.

I'm giving this book a 4 out of 5 stars.

So much attention to “maleness”. So many ripped our hearts. So much weird, consent breaking telepathic intrusions and threats of bodily harm. Paranormal romance of the early 2000s hits different and I mean this in both the best and worst ways possible.

Loved the world building and plot. Way too much gore for me, and the sex scenes were also too many and too detailed for my preference.
