Angels' Blood is a story about a guild hunter named Elena who is hired by an archangel, named Raphael. Elena's task is to to hunt down a rouge and murderous archangel, named Uram. This is an adult paranormal romance, so there's violence and sex and I enjoyed most of it.

There was one line that was misogynistic and I didn't really like that. The main character constantly made poor decisions that put herself in danger and that was really tiresome. Other than those two things, I enjoyed everything else in this book.

This book has action, spicy scenes, and funny banter between the main character and her love interest.

I'm giving this book a 4 out of 5 stars.

This gave me all the nostalgic Buffy the Vampire Slayer vibes - but as an adult vampire slayer in New York City & with a forbidden romance with an Arc Angel
I was worried as it’s a bit older series but I throughly enjoyed it. I listened on audio & will continue with the series that way.

This was engaging but slow, a lot of us figuring out the cast of characters and building some tension between people before any action happens-at about the 150 page mark. Which is a long time to wait when the book is only a little over 300pgs

I mean... I keep relistening to this book. It's probably my third time by now. The Guild Hunter world is fascinating. It's so interesting to have angels, vampires, and vampire hunters have the kind of connections that they do in this world.

The first book does a good job in introducing the world and the characters, and shows us the dynamics between immortals and mortals. Elena and Raphael are an awesome pair. It's fun to go back to the beginning to the series after knowing what they're like together later on in the series.

The plot was creepy. There are a few side plots woven through this, and it makes you keep wanting to read to find out what Elena will face next.

So much attention to “maleness”. So many ripped our hearts. So much weird, consent breaking telepathic intrusions and threats of bodily harm. Paranormal romance of the early 2000s hits different and I mean this in both the best and worst ways possible.

Unfortunately, while the cast of this book is diverse, this book is full of racist/fetishizing language. A lot using food to describe skin color as well as flagrant use of the word “exotic.” There was also groundwork for some racist character archetypes, though I’m assuming you’d have to keep reading this series to see if those come to their typical end.
