As a chronically ill person, I was really excited to read this. Here's the thing. Do I always need to consider my physical ability day to day? Yeah. Is that the defining characteristic of my being? No. I felt like there wasn't enough to Chloe besides her illness.

She is a web designer not because she loves tech but because she can do computer work as a sick person. I think it's mentioned that she has gaming consoles, but the only things she ever does are work on Reds website, do things from the list with Red, and be sick.

And Red has a full blown panic attack that he magically gets over and he's seeing therapist now so we don't ever have to worry about his mental health again. He just needs to exist to take care of our sick main character and help her go on adventures to get better.

The book was fine I guess and I'm nit picking. Maybe the point was she had no life besides being sick. If just grated on me. I think I expected more based upon the hype.

I loved this book and am so sad that it's over! I sincerely hope that the author will consider writing another book featuring Chloe.

Like the author and the main character, I have fibromyalgia, and this was the first fiction book where I've seen that aspect of my experience reflected, and it was so wonderful. The struggles Chloe faces are relatable and real, and the book covers them all so accurately, but the book also features how strong Chloe is and how she can have a romance that's not all about fibromyalgia. It was also nice seeing disability representation in a way that centers accessibility rather than abelism. Chloe is surrounded by loved ones who accommodate for her, and it's heartwarming for me as a disabled woman to see this example of the kind of healthy relationships that are out there.

The romance between Chloe and Red was so sweet and so enjoyable to see unfold. It was a wonderful slow burn. I just wish we got more time with these characters and that the book was a bit longer.

I enjoyed that they featured a man who pursued therapy, and that he began attending therapy early on, rather than just as an attempted bandage when things get rough. I also appreciated how this book showed what healthy conflict lookes like between two adults with their own mental health baggage.

The only reason I bump it down a half star is because I've read many books with more elegant writing than this. It was a great story, but the writing wasn't poetic or more beautiful than average. Plus, there could have been more showing rather than telling. I read this expecting it to be a cute romcom type of book, and that's exactly what it turned out to be, so I still really enjoyed it.

All in all, this really was a cute story with very lovable characters, and I expect this is a story I'm going to think back to for a long time. Definitely recommend, especially for other chronically ill romcom lovers!

This book was both pink clouds and pure sweetness as well as very serious around mental health and I really appreciated it. I am mainly an anything but romance reader now starting to read romance.

The mental health and chronic pain rep in this book was amazing. The feeling of being a burden to others while also learning to accept help when needed was beautiful.

The rediscovering yourself after previous relationships was handled okay. I think it handled it better than most books but still felt like they relied on each other as the reason why to change and grow rather than for themselves.

This is my first Talia Hibbert and I’ve already downloaded the next book from my library.

Chloe is the grump to Red’s sunshine…or is it the other way around? It’s a cute, quick diverse romance with a plus-sized, disabled, Black (and wonderfully stubborn FMC). These are included in the plot but, they’re aren’t the plot. This is a story about about a woman finding love.

The author is a Black woman with fibromyalgia and chronic pain - so the representation feels real and well-handled.

BONUS: For any BRIDGERTON fans, the audiobook is read by Adoja Andoh aka Lady Danbury!

Quick trope spoiler:
there is a third act breakup but, it feels akin to a couples first fight and it is resolved quickly in the next chapter.
