I’m counting this as a love triangle ending in polyamory, close enoughroberts0208's review against another edition

How I felt after reading this book...
I loved Clockwork Angel. The whole world-building, the characters, the romance...EVERYTHING. In Clockwork Prince, my dedication faltered a bit when the love triangle came into play. Sidenote: I hate love triangles. For the most part, I feel like they've become an unnecessary trope in YA novels and subsequently, character development tends to suffer. Case in point: Clockwork Princess.
Many reviewers loved the ending (yay for them!), but I felt like Clare threw all the romantic build-up she had written between Will and Tessa into the trash (along with my bleeding heart). See reviewer Melissa's write-up on it—she manages to hit all the points that I had with this book. Needless to say, I'm not too keen on picking up more of Clare's work anytime soon.

I’m not sure i will ever be able to read the epilogue of this book without bursting into tears. Nor do i believe there will ever be a better written romance than that of Will, Jem and Tessa’s.

Not what I wanted. Somewhat anticlimactic. Good. Somehow unfulfilling, but sweet. I'm torn. I would give it 3.5 if I could. I'm glad I read it.
