I honestly wish I had read this book when I was younger and just going through all the things described in the book, because it would have helped me understand what is going on in my brain and how to help deal with it all.
The information was presented in a really nice easy to read way and I think the stories that are presented also help to make it a more interesting read and help to put it into real life perspective rather than just facts on a page.

This is brilliant and is a must read for all parents of an adolescent.

It made me think, reflect and plan. Some of what is covered in this book will, hopefully, help me understand what my children are going through during this particular time.

A brilliant insight into the teenage brain. Would recommend to anyone who has or works with teenagers. Some things are outdated (statistics and some language used), but that's because research and society can move very quickly!

Great explanation of how the teenage brain actually operateĀ  and how it impacts on behaviour patterns. Helos the teenager understand why they find themselves acting in some ways and allows parents and educatirs to also understand, so you can reflect as to whether you are having unreasonable expectations of them/themselves and adjust your own approaches accordingly. Some helpful info on risky behaviours and choices too, which would hopefully encourage teens to make informed choices.

Definitely aimed more at teenagers rather than parents but a light-hearted and informative read nonetheless. I especially liked the later chapters that delved into substance abuse and mental health issues - in the most accessible way for the audience.

This was not a bad book but it was in no way a good book either. I understand that Morgan was trying to simplify the complex science to help a large audience age range of 12-17 to understand themselves a bit better and I admire why she wrote this book, but actually reading it, I found it to be almost condescending and clearly written by an adult trying to relate to teenagers. The premise is good, it just needs a little work. Maybe ask some actual teenagers.
