This book, just like the first one, is full of WTF moments. A little hard to follow at times, but a very interesting and entertaining read.

I actually read this novel while on a cruise ship in the Caribbean, and it bears little to no relation to reality. At no point did my cruise ship wander into an ill-defined time vortex. When we sailed past Miami, the city was beautiful and intact, not a virus-addled hellscape. And there wasn't even one psychic on board.

In sum, the moody tension and interesting character development present early in the novel gives way to an extremely disappointing dénouement. I don't even know if the author knew fully what was going on. Just creep me out, it's not hard.

A twisted, weird, supernatural slow burner. The characters are interesting if not always likeable, making them feel more real. I can understand why some people didn't enjoy this you need to be a bit open to strange things. The inner working environment of the ship that passengers don't usually see matched my experience. It's a good job I'm not going on a cruise soon after reading this - ohh wait a minute, oops...

I wanted to be scared and this didn't do it. It took too long to get going. The end was annoying too.
