The last 2 chapters were a little rushed. Some of the ally shifts felt unrealistic and merely a convenient way to wrap up the story nicely.

Repetitiveness was what docked my rating for this book, too. Not only with the same information to "remind" the readers, which often felt unnecessary, but also with the situations Jaron found himself in.
I did enjoy how this wrapped everything up, though.

“Nobody gives you respect in this life. You must take it, you must earn it, and then you must hold it sacred, because no matter how hard respect is to attain, it can be lost in an instant.”
I love this series so much.

It's war in a medieval-ish fantasy world, folks. It's not as intense as an adult book would be, but I think it's about as bad as Scholastic would publish.
