Always love Kinsella's writing but really didn't care for these characters. Loved their friends though.

DNF. I got halfway through, hoping the main character will become likable, the romance would be believable, but alas I was proven wrong. The chemistry between Ava and Matt made no sense, nor did you see it.

The main couple was just painful to read for 85% of the book. Their relationship had me cringing and wanting to shake them both. With that being said, by the end, there was definitely some great character growth. I just wish it wouldn't have all been saved for the last 15% of the book. It made for a very abrupt ending. The friend group and dynamic at the end is a story I would have much preferred to spend time reading about.

Thank you to the author and Netgalley for the ARC. I voluntarily read and reviewed this title.

What a fun and frothy romance tale in reverse.

I’m a huge fan of Sophie Kinsella and started eagerly reading this book when it came out. The main character annoyed me so much that I stopped reading it. She paid a lot of money to attend a week long writing course and made a huge deal about leaving her dog behind. Then she meets a guy and none of it seems to matter. I just picked it up again and got through that first part again. Ava is annoying. She’s a vegetarian, who just cannot believe that her boyfriend refuses to become one. They “fall in love” in less than a week and cannot believe they have a hard time having a relationship in the real world. It did entertain me, but it was definitely my least favorite of her books.

I am a HUGE fan of Sophie Kinsella, but this one was a disappointment. The main character's "quirks" weren't cute or comical. They were downright annoying. And, in the instance of her refusal to train her dog, these quirks become rude. She was so annoying that I wanted her love interest to run the other way. Can't believe I invested in the hard cover. Ugh.
