Good, but a little too fluffy in the wording for me. The too many adjectives were distracting a bit

For some reason it's taken me until now to read this, even though I've been reading Atwood for years. I had to suggest it to my book club just to make sure I would come around to reading it. Actually, I think I know why. I suspected I would find it difficult reading, and I did. The terrifying thing about this dystopian tale of Christian extremists is that it doesn't feel all that unrealistic. Every page reminded me of the horrific backlash against feminism that we're experiencing. I can't believe we're living in a world where legitimate rape and fetal personhood are even conceivable. The Handmaid's Tale made me sick to my stomach. It's a good book though, everyone should read it. Except misogynist lunatics who might get ideas.
