I sped through this book. It is brilliant and heart breaking and a look a grief you don’t see very often. I love it.

The portrayal of siblingness is perfect and the emotions (and control of these) sublime. Potential favourite book of the year.
A storming 9.5/10
P.s. the audible copy was an utter delight. Can't wait to listen again whilst also reading a paper copy. I loved it that much I bought it in two formats.

4⭐️ "I just need someone to know what this feel like, but no one ever could. Mum’s pain, dad’s pain. Its all different. They could never now mine, and I could never know theirs. All I do know is that no one in this world had a sister like her" / "I thought we had endless time"

was just talking about how books don’t really make me cry the way that movies and shows do but while reading sunset i learned that maybe i should blame the books i’m reading and not the medium. this was lovely. i love jessie cave and i will blindly follow her down any creative forays she makes. so far the results have been incredible.
