Sabrina and Liam have a past. One that ended badly and scarred both of them for years. It even spiraled to the point where Sabrina is estranged with her father. She now works in the family's vineyard... which no longer belongs to the family since her brother cheated on his wife. Sabrina sided with her (not the reason for the estrangement but it certainly isn't helping since her brother is the family's golden child.)
Liam's family is trying to branch out their dairy program and think that partnering with the vineyard will be a perfect way to do so. Unaware of her past with Liam, Sabrina's boss assigns her to work with him.
Watching these two get back together was interesting. Liam didn't exactly sleep with Sabrina and then discard her but he was still an asshat, even thirteen years later. I didn't love the end of Sabrina's storyline with her father but it was overall a sweet book that regular Yates readers will enjoy.

I have loved getting to know the Donnelly’s through the last few books of this series. And, from what I can tell, this was the end of the series. But don’t despair! There is a whole new series this author has started spinning off from the winery in this book. Yay!

We’ve met both Sabrina and Liam in previous books and I’ve been looking forward to getting their story. I was not disappointed. Maisey Yates is just so good at writing chemistry. I always get immediately drawn into her stories and the relationships she creates. The things these two have been through forced them both to grow up earlier than they should have had to, but in different ways. Watching them both realize what the other had gone through over the years and reconcile that with their preconceived ideas was amazing to see.

In every one of the last four books in this series, the Donnelly brothers have some kind of airing of grievances where a bit more of their messed up childhoods came to light. Things each of the brothers didn’t know about the others. Each time those scenes gutted me. This time, Liam being the last of the brothers to get his story, was the culmination of it all. My goodness there is a ton of emotions in this book. But where the author brought out my tears in those scenes, she brought out my smiles in the last chapter. In a way it’s a wrap up of all the brothers and their ladies have gone through and it’s beautiful.

Another great read from this series. (Plus, a teaser excerpt at the end for book one in a spin-off series, and a bonus novella that is a prequel! It's like getting a surprise Christmas present from Maisey Yates!)

Christmastime Cowboy is a second-chance romance/enemies-to-lovers hybrid. Practically my catnip! Liam and Sabrina were close in high school--friends, and she hoped, something more--until he rejected her (crushingly, though at least in private) and left for parts unknown, never to return...until he does. And of course they need to work together on a project for their respective workplaces--so you know where that is going, right?

Liam and Sabrina had a lot of issues to work out--within themselves, with their families, and in their relationship. Though it felt like slow going at times (is there anything worse than those relationship-with-an-expiration-date plots? So. Much. Angst) they both eventually got to somewhere at least close to where they needed to be in what felt like a realistic way. I loved seeing Liam's interactions with his family (Must. Read. Books 1 & 2, dang it. ASAP) and seeing Clara again, this time as Sabrina's friend and coworker. Grassroots Winery (Sabrina's workplace) is also providing a springboard to the next series, since Olivia lives in Gold Valley. Can't wait for book one!

(Though, okay...waiting will give me time to get to Finn and Cain's books, at least. I'll get right on that!)

Rating: 4 1/2 stars / A-

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Chistmastime Cowboy is my second Maisey Yates novel and the tenth novel in the Copper Ridge Series. Don't worry about diving into this series ten books deep though! Each one is a standalone and there is enough backstory provided to help the reader along.

I thought the setting of the winery and the tasting room was perfect for a contemporary Christmas romance, and I loved both Sabrina and Liam as characters. They were great together; however, my favourite scene from the book came near the end when Sabrina and Liam have their inevitable breakup/will-they-wont-they moment. Liam's younger brother, Alex, gives him a lecture and an earful that was just perfect!

I previously read Slow Burn Cowboy and one thing I love about this author is that she keeps her novels fresh and fun, sweet and sexy. This is the perfect novel to read with a glass of wine beside the fireplace or Christmas tree this winter, and then pass along to a girlfriend so you can gush about sexy cowboys together!
