Great return to memoirs - although a bit disappointing for blog readers that some of the material has already been covered.

I love Jen Lancaster.

And therefore am abstaining from writing a review of this memoir.

I'm just going to pretend that it never happened.

Not one of my favorite books, but still entertaining.

After attempting one of her fiction titles last year and not getting past chapter 3 I decided to give her a try again. Just as I suspected... her non-fiction is a much better choice for me. Her humor, wit and sarcasm get me every time. (Not to mention I feel like half of her stories could be about me. Just replace the word cat(s) with dog(s) and you have a majority of my memoir!) Quick read + laugh out loud = a perfect palate cleanser between heavier titles. **If you have never read any of Jen Lancaster's titles I highly recommend starting at the beginning and getting to know her first.**

This was an amazon recommendation I think. I didn't know anything about it, but I put it on the library list anyways. I really enjoyed it. Though Jen is a little older than me, so much of it was relatable ( secret life as a guilt pleasure- I understand ). I may see if the library has more of jen's books

Some of these essays are genius and some are ones I recognized from her blog, which is not to say those aren't good as well. I liked this book like I like all her books, but it took me a while to finish it. As in, I got this book when it came out and I'm just finishing it now.

Incredibly enjoyable and had me busting a gut, but...
I could have done without the constant feeling of déjà vu since I read about half the stories on her blog already. She did expand on the stories in her book, but still, needed more new stories.

A nice fun read, it nice to see that Jen hasn't lost her snarkiness or sense of humor despite growing up.
