I read this book when I was in deep contemplation about my course in college and in a certain relationship where I ended it for the better. Aideen's struggles of performing better in school are something that I can deeply relate to right now, where she doesn't know what her passions in life are and I am deeply connected with that.

This book is not only for the struggles of one's course like mine but this is also a story where loners form long-lasting friendships and start a relationship with someone you thought you hated in the past. My favorite character in this book is definitely Kavi and Aideen's sarcasm.

Though I would like it if the author included the part where Ms. Devlin helps Aideen with her family problems and that would have made a satisfying ending for me rather than ending it on an open-ended ending.

“I decided I wouldn't call her annoying anymore. I didn't know what it was like to be Meabh, and I certainly would never get what it was like to be Kavi, but I knew what it was like to feel alone.”

ciara smyth has a uncanny ability to make you laugh while feeling a deep sorrow in your chest at the same time.

it might be an irish thing, who knows! but she does it well!

because despite how devastating aideen’s life becomes, you still find yourself laughing out loud through the entire rowdy adventure she gets herself into.

as a heavy recommender of her first novel, ‘the falling in love montage’, i am so pleased to add this to the roster.

the cast of characters were messy, imperfect, sarcastic, and absolutely loveable. my favourite!

maebh and her inability to do anything calmly
