I can’t bring myself to rate these books any more than 3.5 stars, and while I find them enjoyable I don’t see how people are rating them 5? But to each his own!

This book felt stagnant for the first half, like I had no idea what direction it was going in, what we were working towards. Then the last four or so chapters happened. That ending? I know it’s kind of necessary for the series but low key disturbing.

I want Barrons and Mac to kiss already.

Despite it’s flaws, I cannot put this series down. On to the next one!

Ahhh... I have to finish now. After I finished Bloodfever (a year or more ago), I swore that I would not read another book in this series until the last one (Shadowfever) was out because of the awful cliffhangers. So I just a few days ago started Faefever with my plan to continue on quickly through the rest of the series! Thank goodness I listened to myself, I would have been real P.O.'d if I had read this book when it came out several years ago. There is a level of cliffhanger that is acceptable and then a level that is just too annoying/painful to be good. This is one of those books.

Having said that (now that the conclusion to all of the books is available), Faefever is a great filler book. I feel like the main purpose of it was to fill in gaps and to prepare explain enough of what was left out in the first two books to make the last two books readable. There wasn't much "storyline" in this book, but rather it was more of an explanation of the Fae world, and what the whole point of Mac/Barrons/VLane/Christian/The L.M./etc.... quest was about. There was attempted action, I guess to keep some level of excitement going, but this is truly one of those 'necessary' plot expansion books.

But still... I immediately started in on the next book as soon as I had finished this one. Addictive!

FINALLY FINISHED IT....took three years to read the last little bit and it’s safe to say that I could have lived without ever finishing it

good story

Good story even great. But holy cow she needs a new editor. The never ending not going anywhere inner monologues are painful at this point. I mean this is book 3. I think we all got the point Mac likes pink. You don’t need to go into 5 background stories telling us that that. The constant never ending recaps took ok so you wanted a recap in the beginning that’s fine. But do you really need to recap what the spear does every time time it does it, or who vlane is. It is getting super repetitive. Still giving a 4 stars cuz the story is actually pretty interesting and I am curious about jerrioco barrons.

Mac

This series just keeps getting better. And I love the new characters Dani, Inspector Jayne and I'm still a little unsure about Christian. I loved the story.
