I enjoyed this classic children's book more than the others in this genre, ie: Peter Pan, Pinocchio and Jungle book. There is a real sense of adventure and Alice is such a great character, very rude and naughty. She is still learning about life and it's rules.

The story is mad, the characters are brilliant, loads of drugs, murder and sinister plots. All perfect for a kids book.

It had been a while since I last read this book and it has even more non-sense than I remembered, which is a good thing. I found the ending a bit too abrupt, but other than that I enjoyed my re-read.

Amazing how I've gotten to 25 and never read this classic story, or perhaps I did and just forgot. Anywho, I grew up with the animated film. It was nice to read this and refresh my memory of the story.

I love the spin offs of Alice in Wonderland - films, other books, even themed parties. But the original source material just doesn't do it for me, for such a short book (and a great narrator of the audiobook), it seems to drag on in places and go off on tangents that I just don't find endearing. Plus I've always struggled with the language of classic novels. I want to love this novel, but alas I may have to stick to the Disney film version going forward.

Finally, I managed to read this.
I have seen the disney cartoon and live action versions so thats where my expectations came from.

This is written with so much dysfunctionality that it's amazing. Everything is so weird and confusing but at the same time so intriguing. The writing is really good and this was such a lovely read. I loved that it was so messy and weird and nothing made sense. Refreshing.

" Alice was very nearly getting up and saying "Thank you, sir, for your interesting story," but she could not help thinking there must be more to come, so she sat still and said nothing. "

That quote nearly sum up what I felt while reading this story.
The whole idea behind it and some of the characters in it I enjoyed to some extent. But getting through this book was frankly quite tiring and a bit annoying. The story was bland. Nothing really happend through the book that sparked a need to read more of it. It just feelt like one random thing after an other. Which would have been fine if any of those random things had been interesting enough to read about.

I keept reading this while thinking that there must be more to come. But it seems like there wasn't.
