I finished this book two days ago and legit can't remember who the murderer was. This is the second Ann Cleeves book I have read. Both books took me forever to read the first 60 pages (like weeks) and then after that hump I was able to get into it and finish the next 300 pages in a few days. But yeah, still can't remember the end two days later. I guess this would be good summer fluff reading although I think you really should be allowed to read fluff at any time of the year.

A six hour train ride from London to Scotland and another very satisfying Ann Cleeves mystery as I work my way through the Shetland series - perfect.

Slow-burning and atmospheric; just what i needed!
Bones in the land... skeletons in a cupboard...
Two deaths on an island.
An old woman's death is considered an accident, the other's, an archaeologist, a suicide. Coincidence?
Are the two deaths connected?
Is there more to those deaths than meets the eye?
What if there is a cunning murderer on the island who needs his buried secrets not to be dug out?

Solid mystery with a claustrophobic atmosphere. I enjoyed the archeological setting a lot. Perez seems to get to the answer out of the blue which was a bit odd.
