I really struggled with the world building because it was just major info dumping constantly. It got to the point where i’d skim for so long because of the info dumps that I would just have no idea what was going on. I really wanted to love this but I was just not a fan and couldn’t stay completely captivated enough to want to push through.

I really liked this book, I would suggest it to anyone who doesn't feel comfortable enough to read the poppy war. Colonialism, as a theme, is very prominent, and although it's analized in a YA-ish way, it's still very impactful. The romance was very cute, and i'm interested in how it'll develop in the sequel.
