Very intoxicating & chilling tale. The ending leaves you with a feeling of doom & hopelessness

Lacks the depth of the movie and it's written in a cheap bestseller fashion. However, it is a fast read and entertaining. One of those mindless books you'd take to the beach. The ending is different to the movie and it has a curious (although cliche) twist.

It's like The Firm and Rosemary's Baby got together and this is the lovechild. The movie has just the barest of bones of this story and definitely goes in some completely different directions.

I enjoyed the read and the awesome old used book copy and cover I have. It especially felt Neiderman like as we watched Miriam and the other girls go full pampered head in the sand V.C. Andrews villianess. Probably my favorite bit! Gold keys that take you straight to the devil's penthouse? Ngl that's pretty bomb.
