I've been fed well by this book.

Stevie:
Main girl with attitude and kindness as thick as her. Like fr, girl sounded thick and beautiful asl. She's so mature and knows when to and not to stay mad, recognizing her flaws, and actively battling. It's been a little bit since I last read of a main girl with so many different sides to her, and all loveable. Even when I disagreed with her actions, I still understood her reasons.

Zanders:
Hot, cute and everything in between. He comes of as an arrogant person, but there's more below the surface, and I promise you want to peel this onion. I hate reading books where the main guy is all tough and stern all the time, so I loved Zander and how outspoken and honest he could get about his feelings. Chefs kiss.

Overall:
I see people complaining about the length of the story but I quite appreciated it. Every plot point was closed and wrapped in pretty bow, not leaving me frustrated over the unknown. I wouldn't expect anything less from such a well though out story. It's simple, but there's beauty in this simplicity.

I really liked this book. Since this was my first Liz Tomforde book I went in with high expectations because of all the hype this series got. I have little to no notes. This was a great romance with impeccable character development between Stevie and Zander. Stevie overcoming her insecurities with her appearance and Zander overcoming his insecurities that stem from childhood trauma were really the highlights of this book for me. Also, really good banter. The โ€œare you following meโ€ shtick between Stevie and Zander never got old. If anything it got cuter and more endearing. I also liked the side characters and am not opposed to reading their books.

I have no issues with it beside the smut mostly being in Zanders POV, and also the hockey players constantly being referred to by last name. Whenever Zander/Zee was actually getting called Evan I was confused because at some point I really thought his last name was his first name because of how often it was used.

This was so close to being a 4 star. I loved both Zanders and Stevie. Their relationship and the way it started and built was great to read and I love how they both healed each other. I liked them individually as well, mainly because it felt like what they were feeling, in terms of their doubts and insecurities, felt real and understandable. The reason it was not a 4 star was because it just felt too long. The pacing leading up to them finally getting together was great, however after that it just dragged at moments. We spent a lot of time with them together just waiting for the third-act breakup that you knew was coming and the reason why it was going to happen. Then even the resolution felt somewhat dragged out. I jut wish this was edited down by 50-100 pages as the rest was great and I loved the emotional moments.Overall, a quick read that drew me in and kept me hooked, just a little too long.

I really liked this book, it's the first romance book that I read where the MC isn't skinny, so that's a big plus. Sometimes a few quotes and moments became repetitive, but all in all really liked it.

This was a decent book but it could've been like 150 pages shorter. It moved SO slowly.

๐ŸŒถ๏ธ 3/5 multiple explicit scenes but the spice just wasn't spicing for me

๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆโœŠ Both characters are Black/mixed, I think? FMC is biracial (Black and white); I was a little unclear on MMC's parents' races, but he is Black. FMC is fat and she deals with fatphobia, both personally and societally. Props for the mental health & pro-therapy story lines; we love a king who's been in therapy for a decade lol
