I was very excited to pick up this book because the premise sounded amazing. This novel follows Kim, the mother of 19-year-old Tallulah, a young woman who went out on a date with her boyfriend and baby daddy, and never returned. Now, one year later, Tallulah and her boyfriend still have not been found, and the case has seemed to run cold. Sophie, a writer who just moved to the area because of her boyfriend's job, stumbles across a cardboard sign behind the school that reads "Dig here". This is all very similar to a different cold case, and when Sophie uncovers what has been buried, Tallulah's case is reopened with vigor.
I really enjoyed how this story was written, it alternates between present day and a year ago. I really enjoy simultaneously getting pieces of information from the past that are pertinent to the mystery in the present. Tallulah is a seemingly innocent woman who has surrounded herself with some questionable people. It was entertaining to see which of her friends played a part in her disappearance. I will say I was not blown away with the big mystery and what ultimately happened. Although enjoyable, I did think it was pretty easy to predict. I still enjoyed the story, but I was not blown away by the mystery.

One of her best books to date, a truly gripping thriller, that had me on the edge of my seat wanting more. Was slightly predictable in places but personally it worked.

This book could have benefitted from another round of editing, but was overall quite a gripping mystery.
