The plot of this book was very interesting. However, the romance aspect seemed very repetitive at first compared to what was in pestilence. Then when it got different, it took a turn for the worse. There were one too many unforgivable things War did that just made him un redeemable to me. On top of that, Miriam forgave him way too quickly. The whole punishment thing where he killed most his soldiers in front of her as her punishment was what sent me over the edge. And the fact that he wouldn’t change for her, herself, but it took her to become pregnant to realize he was wrong. The change in him was too quick. It would have been better if it were more gradual. He treated Miriam too much like his object than anything. I also hated how he kept claiming she would surrender like she’s inferior to him. And then of course, just like in pestilence, Miriam, like Sara dies and comes back. Can it be different? like i haven’t felt this level of anger reading a book in so long.

so good!! surprisingly, a lot less violent than pestilence's book imo. (until towards the end it gets a bit gory)
i was still riding the high of pestilence while starting this book, so i was a bit worried i wouldn't like it as much, but i did! i still enjoy pestilence more, but not a crazy amount.
i think war as a character is really nice, i loved seeing such a stark contrast between how pestilence was toward human things vs war. war has no problems indulging and enjoying the same things as humans. he also gives khal drogo vibes and i really like that even though this is enemies to lovers, and pestilence hurt sara physically last book, war never laid a finger on miriam. like, since he first saw her he was tending to her every need, even when he was PISSED, which i really liked!
every time miriam made a bad decision and tried to escape i would get sooo annoyed like girl PLEASE stop running! go get ur man

Definitely enjoyed the first better. War is definitely a lot more spicy then his brother but it is harder to root for him for most of the book.
