“Aurora shuddered at the thought that from a simple injection, a computer would sprout and grow in the brain like ivy on brick. From there it was only a matter of thought to reach the vast expanse of the digital world. The network was the next civilization, the individual connected by hidden roots like an aspen grove.”

Aurora, her brother Kars and her friend Lena are about to have their world turned upside down by finding out that nothing has been what it seems.

Aurora and her friends go on an adventure in a world where machines and big corporations have taken over and nobody knows who to trust.

With a trickster spider, the Houses of the Curious and a mentor/face of the resistance out of reach but laying down paths to finding the truth, Aurora and her friends need to hold on to each other and remember what it means to be human in a world where anything can become possible, for a price.

I loved the world building and as a reader, finding out more about the world as the main characters do. The Houses of the Curious and the hidden memories were my favourite parts and I look forward to finding out what happens in book 2.
