This is another magical mystery that is fast paced, scary and has a riddle at its heart that needs to be solved, because Larabelle Fox is quite certain that it is not Double Eight who does the bad deeds indeed.

Loved the characters, the magic, the plot and yet, something did just not quite click for me.

Another outstanding book, I was unable to put it down. Brilliant follow on from book one, I would strongly recommend both

This was so disappointing.
I really loved the first book in the series, but unfortunately everything that made that book good is missing from this one.
*mild Spoilers ahead*
The main villain of the first book is a truly gruesome, evil creation who steals the souls of babies to keep herself young and has an army of zombie-like witches at her disposal. This villain is Lord Voldemort from Philosphers stone crossed with the face stealer from Airbender. Which sounds chilling but it's never actually explored.
The first book is a Save the World adventure, this is a Fetch Quest.
The first book features distinct and interesting characters, this book either removes them altogether, or turns them into whiny cry babies.
Basically, I'm not a fan. Which is a shame, because Evernight was SO GOOD. Sorry.
