Honestly, from the Dedication to the Acknowledgements I loved this book. You could tell how much joy was in it and how solid Evemer (my stoic kahyalar who has to learn how to put his feelings into words) and Kadou (my absolute mess of a prince who has to learn how to not be his own worst enemy) were throughout. They deserved their happy ending and I wanted it so much for them from the very beginning!

This is one of the best fantasy books I think I’ve ever read! Everything about this book was absolutely incredible. From the anxiety rep to the queer rep to the political intrigue, everything was so well done. And I just wanted to live between the pages of this book and never have it end! I loved Kadou and Evermer, the level of chemistry and character development between them was fantastic! Even the side characters were amazing and had me giggling at every turn. I loved all of them and I honestly can’t wait to dig into the other books set in this world. A Taste Of Gold And Iron is getting five stars! And if you haven’t read it yet, I would highly recommend it. 😊

This was an interesting idea, a slow-burn fantasy mm romance, with the idea of a prince and his bodyguard. The world-building was good, the character development was also well done, the story started slow, but eventually as it was also a slow-burn it picked up. I was intrigued with the idea of the story when I first got it and I think the author did a good job writing this story.

I truly loved the experience of reading this book, and I grew so incredibly fond of the characters over the course of the story, and while I am so glad I decided to start this book, finishing it was honestly bittersweet because I now have to move on from this beautiful tale of love, at least for now.

Absolutely judge this book by its cover!!! It’s just as freaking beautiful and soft and lovely as the cover suggests!! Just soo addicting that I couldn’t put it down and had to binge read it. The mystery is really just a plot device to character explorations! And the characters a phenomenal and will worm their way into your head and stick with you!!
