She was mine to protect, mine to defend, just fucking mine.
Unlike every other aspect of my life, I wouldn't have to share
her. Not with my brothers, not with the family, not with the Five
Points.
She belonged to me, and Eoghan O'Donnelly protected what belonged to him.
That was a fucking fact.
A āmafiaā with arranged marriage.
Tropes?
Arranged marriage
Age gap (F18, M30-ish)
āHurts her father when he hurts herā
Owd but no cheating
Both Eoghan and Inessa are set into an arranged marriage as a peace agreement between āenemiesā.
Eoghan does not want it but he canāt go against his father; inessa was raised to be a perfect polished bride for her son to be husband:
"A handsome groom for a beautiful bride. We're going to make the congregation weep."
On the day of their wedding, two things happens:
1) he sees her bruises and after the wedding he dislocates his filās arm.
2)owdā¦ unfortunately. His mistress is on his bed in their wedding day. That is already a huge ick to meā¦.
The story did get somewhat ābetterā.
There were times were E will talk about I being a virgin and how he canāt have sex bcz of thatā¦. Eyeroll
The plot was decent. I like the dynamic Inessa had with his family especially with Eoghanās brothers.
The female lead, does have a backbone but itās not there. She knew that marrying someone like E, will be like any other mafia stories she has heard, but she didnāt expect him to be understanding:
"You're not the biggest monster I've come across.ā
And the age was questionable. At first E didnāt want to be with her especially for her young age but I guess they are marriedā¦. I donāt mind age gaps but not when the female lead is barely of ageā¦.
I wished I got to se more of the main leads relationship growth; we got some crumbs but I need more then their mutualĀ pining: āIf brains could orgasm, then l'd just come.ā

The main lead kind of reminded me (a little) to Nino:
I knew, at that moment, I'd never been closer to someone than I was with her.
To the world, she was my possession, but the sense of belonging I felt was different than ownership at that moment.
I didn't understand it, couldn't explain it, but I figured some things didn't need to be reasoned or defined.
They just were.
She was addictive, and she'd just reeled me in.
Hook.
Line.
And sinker.
