I didn't like it. It wasn't anywhere near the original one, that was clearly the better written one. She tried to tell the story in two different times, but did future scenes instead of flashbacks, which made the story confusing.

Not quite as good as the first book too me. Sadder, although has more closure too? Really, this is one story split into two parts.

I had trouble connecting to the new characters. The plotting was satisfying, however, and the writing just as good.

I'm not sure if this one was quite as good as the first, but I loved the fact that some loose ends got tied up. This author is remarkable, however, I have tried her third attempt at fiction (the title escpaes me) and couldn't get into it so I put it away for later.

I want to rate this book much higher because of my love for its predecessor, The Sparrow. Alas, I cannot.

Good but short of the first book.
The increased scope was impressive but less propulsive. Though I was impressed by the sheer compassion of thing - no bad deed goes unforgiven.
I'll certainly read more by the author.
