I received an ARC of Damaged. All opinions are my own. I liked the characters, and their story, but thought some parts were a little bit rushed. I would have liked Colby and Mace's story to be slightly longer to give them a little bit more of a chance to develop a relationship before all the drama started unfolding. It was not one of my favorite books, but I still enjoyed the story.

This is my first Jeanne St. James book and it is definitely not my last. With just the right amount of suspense and steam, St. James has brought together two characters, each with their own damaged past. Mace comes home after being deep undercover with the FBI. He needs to ease back into his own reality and recover from a serious injury. When he walks into his house, he expects to see his sister, but instead meets Colby. Colby is house sitting for Mace's sister while renovating her own house. She is trying to start her life with a clean slate away from her abusive past. When brought together, will these two damaged souls be able to heal each other? I love these two characters, each showing how their pasts do not define their future. As the two grow close, and their attraction ignites with passion and steam, St. James creates a romantic suspense thriller you will not want to miss!

B.B. Franklin narrates this story and brings the action to life. She has a great pace, and I enjoyed her female voices. Her male voice was very good, but sometimes the differentiation between male characters in a scene was not clear. I did love her emotion and suspense filled inflections.

Mace needed to come home to recuperate from a gun shot wound, not knowing that his sister left for her honeymoon and left Colby as the house sitter. Being in such close quarters, the two have instant chemistry that explodes off the pages. But will that relationship put Colby in harms way with the men who are trying to kill Mace? Or will the issues from her past relationships keep Colby from falling in love? This was a great story with great characters and a fast moving plot that kept the pages turning. Another great read from Jeanne St. James.

I absolutely love Jeanne St James. I love her books. This one is on the top of my love her books. Not only was it full of suspense but it was also loving and sweet. I absolutely love the part when Mace comes home to find a woman holding a gun ready to shoot him if needed. I swear that set the tone for the whole rest of the book. Mace is someone that you can easily relate too. Someone with a past that he has to keep to himself but he finds himself falling for this girl who can make his terrible past a little better. I was instantly engaged with the hero and heroine in this book. Action filled with some steamy sex scene. Jeanne St James did not disappoint with this book. Two people dealing with the past can love save them both? I highly recommend reading this book. Get to one clicking I guarantee you will love it.

Started out okay but then it turned cliché in the end. The characters got a bit annoying also during the book.

I really wanted to like this more than I did. It seems to be the beginning of a great story. So much could happen and go wrong. Sadly the majority of this book was sex. Some is good so we can get the feel for the emotions of the character but too much just ruins it and takes away from the main story. Which was great by the way. Colby has a great job with an abusive past. He is an undercover FBI agent coming home to rest up after getting shot. Funnily the two are at the same house..he owns it. She is renting from his sister. So their first meeting was crazy as she thought he was an intruder. Each has a shady past that can rear its ugly head at any time.
I did listen to this On audio and BB Franklin did a nice job narrating. This is my first book by this author.
