Definitely a must-read for anyone wanting to learn more about the history of the United States. I know they recently released a YA version of this, and I'd be interested in seeing how they changed it for that. Would definitely be a good addition to an American history class.

This book was really informative & provided a really well rounded history of indigenous people in the United States. This book touches on so many things that don't get taught or talked about. I listened to the audio & the narrator Laural Merlington was very good!

Wow, what an excellent read that challenges the way we think and live as white people and people who  benefit from a colonizing United States. This book really proves that everything is and always will be connected. This was particularly interesting and reflective for me as a veteran. I cannot recommend this book enough for folks who want to learn about indigenous history, colonization, and a hope for a free future

As an Indigenous American, it is so invigorating to see the true, Native-centered history of America. While I was aware of the general information in this book, the details provided about specific events and situations were new to me, and not a little infuriating. I found myself becoming indignant and increasingly furious as I continued to read. I mourned the destruction of my culture and celebrated the resilience of my people. I am so glad I read this book.

I can see it potentially being too dense for some teen and young adult readers, but I think in general it is a great starting point for learning the true, bloody history of America.
