DON'T KNOCK KNOCKGLEN 😭😭😭

Yeah, boring. It's not often that a movie is better than the book, but in this case, despite the sincerely wooden effort of one Chris O'Donnell, the movie was better than...this. And that, as we all know, is saying something.

I love these sort of books, Irish, filled with wonderful characters, and dreamy plots. While I did enjoy this book, it took me a long time to read as I didn't feel excited about finding out what would happen.

This was a very sweet novel about a group of friends, which I incidentally borrowed from a friend of mine. It's her favorite novel and I can certainly see why. There is a homecoming feel to it that is intensely comforting, and I am sure I will revisit this book in the years to come

"Big, generous-hearted Benny and the elfin Eve Malone have been best friends growing up in sleepy Knockglen. Their one thought is to get to Dublin, to university and to freedom. On their first day at University College, Dublin, the inseparable pair are thrown together with fellow students Nan Mahon, beautiful but selfish, and handsome Jack Foley. But trouble is brewing for Benny and Eve's new circle of friends, and before long, they find passion, tragedy - and the independence they yearned for." (From Amazon)
The novel has different elements than the movie, but I love both the novel and movie. A great lazy sunday read. The movie is a bit more lighthearted as the book tends to be more realistic.

I read this book at summer camp when I was 14... so over 15 years ago. I do remember some parts of it -- mostly BETRAYAL, and being mad about it. Don't think I'm going to reread it to actually remember it, cause I recall my impression being "meh", but I was at that stage where you had to finish every book you started.
(I just found a movie by this title at work, and thought I'd see if I'd added it)
