Picture books (I've missed thee!) about books create a certain kind of joy. This one in particular is a new fave, the art feels 1960s, even if the publication was 2016. Colour palette is vivid and cheerful, and anything with a rhyming scheme is going to satisfy a particular part of my brain thriving since childhood.

Cute. Kind of meta. Not my favorite, but okay.

In a rhythm reminiscent of Green Eggs and Ham, the author reels off all the things you can do with a book. Everything from "You can read this book to a hippo," to "You can kiss and hug and smell this book" is suggested. The ink and paper illustrations are digitally colored and show scenes that look like they are drawn on a chalkboard or cityscapes with faces peeking out of windows. Young readers are liable to laugh out loud at scenes of two kids in the same sweater, or someone asleep under a tented book. My favorite is the final page that suggests, "You can start at the beginning and read it to a friend!"

Panda Book nominee for 2018-2019; I read this yesterday to a class of kindergarten students. It’s a sweet book that celebrates the love of reading. They especially like the page about reading in the bathtub.

Cute book. Not amazing - I prefer the prose and illustrations of beautiful oops! But a happy addition to our shelves.

Yes, book, I will hug you. The style and colors are reminiscent of those [a:Ed Emberley|24826|Ed Emberley|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1482693786p2/24826.jpg] drawing books!

My niece loved this one, and so did I! A book about all the marvelous things you can do with a book.
