What a perfect way to end the duet. I loved it, I want more how is it already over.
Langley is ACES, I lovedddd that she stuck to her guns she was hurt and she wasn’t just going to let him come back in like nothing happened.

Iker realized he messed up, he knew he did but I don’t think he realized just how hurt Langley was going to be.
He really puts in the work to show her he wants her and is willing to do whatever it takes for just a second chance.

I really enjoyed the scenes with Langley and her father, Iker and her father. I do wish we had one good blow up scene with the step mother only because that would have been epic. Lmao but it was a great Duet.

And again the narrators were perfect for these characters.
Still kicking myself for waiting to listen because I devoured these 2 books in a day.

So the book picks up 9 months after the first one, which makes you automatically think, whoa, is Langley pregnant? But no, that is just when she’s about to graduate and her step-sister who got married in the first one is pregnant. I found something that her father said to her in this one to stand out so much to me, when she told him about all that was going on with Iker and her confusion and feelings on the subject, he asked her if she wanted “an ear or advice”. After he listened to her. So he took the time to listen and waited to see if she wanted advice or had just needed to get things out and be listened to. So often people just assume when you’re telling them about something you want advice. And honestly, sometimes I just need someone to listen to me. To commiserate with me. I will ask if I want advice, and if I don’t, you giving it to me will just piss me off. Other than that, this one could probably have just all been part of one big book with the first one, Girl in Luv, but I get that it definitely had a defining separation point. The female narrator talks kind of slow or drags things out for me at times, but when I tried to speed her up, sometimes that was too fast. But still I like the way it ended and the characters were good!

Ahhh

I don’t normally waste my time reading books to the end if I’m not feeling them. But I kept thinking it’s got to get better right???? Wrong. First book was decent. But this second one was just lacking. Sooooo much potential. Yet to me. it fell flat. The writing style together was alright. But just didn’t hit the mark.

This book felt a lot different than book one. While I appreciated everything iker did to get Langley back, I just didn’t feel the connection like I did in book one :(
