This is a heartbreaking story that I’m surprised is considered young adult. This book did a very good job at showing themes and years of anguish in few pages.

If you can handle the subject matter in this book, I most certainly suggest reading it. It is very heavy and will stick with you for a while after finishing, it is very well written and worth the read. The ending is heart wrenching and rounds out the book well, I feel it was honest to the character and her story.

Update, it has been over 10 years since I read this book and I still actively think about it!

This book needed MANY content warnings. It was very good but very gut wrenching to read. It was a tough one to get through, but a good story, nonetheless. Would recommend to those looking for a quick read, who can handle heavy stories.

This was such a fast paced book and great to get me out of a reading slump. I was not satisfied by the end though, I guess it’s up to interpretation which I normally love and don’t mind, but in this case I would have liked to see more. Had some great lines in the book that really makes you feel and think, a good book for a book club and discussion too!
