I feel tricked. Everyone said this was GOOD. Please, tell me where this is good. I almost liked the romance until Hawke in the middle of a fight said she looked sexy. wHat?!? No. The world building is an inflated mess. Call a spade a spade. Vampires. Werewolves. And a basic fantasy world. The name choices are also questionable. Was it entertaining? Yes, but I feel like JLA hasn’t grown as an author.

i wanted to like this book so bad because of the hype, but i’m 85% through it and the plot is just starting to thicken and there’s still not a clear sign of why ? it’s like 90% romance 5% her mysterious powers and 5% complaining about being a maiden.. idk y’all… it’s written really well and pretty descriptive which is why i’m giving it 3 stars instead of 1 or 2
