I LOVED this book! 5+ stars. Could not put it down. Thronos is a Vrekener who thinks he’s an angel, but slowly through his mate Lanthe (a sorcerei), he slowly realizes he’s actually a Demon, not an Angel. I felt like this book was a giant metaphor for a crisis of faith.
“Melanthe is doubt. She’d always mad him doubt his beliefs… She’d been only nine, yet she’d questioned something he’d thought was absolute.”
Melanthe is the catalyst for his doubt. And as Thronos starts to analyze his beliefs he realizes many things he has believed to be absolute truths—are not.
Their love story was epic. One of my favorite lines:
“With all my dreams having come true, what will I dream of now?”
Notes: both MCs and the book primarily takes place in off-world planes.
