This had similar treads to Becoming, but was also distinctly its own. The angle of this book is very conversational and engaging. At times it felt a bit repetitive at times. I appreciated the overall topics, but found the specifics to be verging on pushy at times. It had a significant self help feel, which works for some and not for others. For me, I took some and left some, where it didn't speak to me. Audiobook is the way to go.

Not only does Michelle Obama express her own feelings about parenting, partnership, family life, and being human but she does it all with so much calmness and grace. This book has helped me take a step back and navigate my relationships and parenting and allowed me to reflect on who I am. She is very insistent that this is not a self help book but instead a book about her life and the lessons she learned and how others can take from that. Beautiful and inspiring!
