Pride and Prejudice will always be a 5/5 book for me but feels misplaced to give this book a high score. Literally just P&P with a few random zombie scenes thrown in. There was opportunity to add to this story but missed them...

This was, by turns, delightful and disturbing. I'm sure I have nothing whatsoever else to add.

The original parts are 5 stars, but the zombie bits weren't interesting to me. I'm still glad I read it, but I probably would have been better off reading the original instead.

I've never read the original - this sort of book doesn't normally appeal to me. I don't think I have read any Jane Austen books, and only a few Bronte books - I am not overly enamoured with this genre or style. However, I thought this might be a bit of fun and gave it a go.

As I don't really know the story that well (I have never seen the film either) I don't know how accurate it is to the original, although I am aware of the basic story, and this version sticks to this. The zombies and the plague that has hit England aren't just an add in and a background, they form some of the plot lines throughout the book.

The main character, Elizabeth, and her sisters, have been trained as efficient zombie killers in China with their father, and the youngest two are keen on giving up the art of slaying to find husbands, whereas Elizabeth isn't. The same romantic plot runs through the book between Elizabeth and Mr Darcy, but with extra scenes of zombie slaying, and the character of Charlotte being bitten and infected and slowly dying.

This was OK, not the best zombie book I have read, more an amusing exercise in literature. I don't think I'll read any of the other similar titles (Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters etc.) Worth a read if you like either genre.

This was literally Pride & Prejudice with just an extra bit added in here and there. It probably doesn't help that I am not a huge fan of zombies to begin with but there was no imagination here IMO just blatant plagiarism and making money off a book already written by adding a few sentences about brains & fighting here and there. Seriously WTF.

Enjoyed this more than Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter, possibly b/c it is satirizing such popular source material, but the addition of zombies, ninjas, and shaolin mastery to the prim and proper nature of the time period fit. I lol'd a lot at the absurdity.

Boring. Very 1800 love story.

I'm not sure what I expected, but I guess what was delivered was probably all that I should have expected. I thought it would be a little different than the original, rather than a smattering of zombie references here and there. A cool concept, but not worth reading the whole thing if you've read P&P (read the first few chapters and a bit of the end to get the gist)!
