What a waste of my life, I was so uninterested that I didn't really focus on the text and had to reread the same passages like 3 times. I like the BBC adaptation and how they had Sherlock involved, rather than just Watson alone. I live for the deductions and there was none because Watson isn't a superhero human like Sherlock. I want a relationship between them that's isn't just coworker respect. I like how they used some lines in the show from the book. Wouldn't read again because it was really boring to me.

So, I guess this counts as a re read, because I have listened to The Hound of the Baskervilles through an abridged audiobook before, but this is my first time reading it unabridged and in its entirety - equally as good! The Hound of the Baskervilles is a mystery novel like no other, and it is full of amazing clues and red herrings that make the story so incredibly enjoyable. Of course, Sherlock Holmes makes every story outstanding, but The Hound of the Baskervilles is probably my favourite of all his mysteries. Arthur Conan Doyle crafts the mystery so well in my opinion, and strings together an unbelievably believable story. Utterly fantastic.

This book really shows you how much the first two Sherlock novels... aren't really mysteries. Like this is a mystery with a creepy setting and a cast of suspects who all couldve done the dirty deed and the reader is able to follow along and make their own conclusions before Holmes comes in and ties everything up with a bow. I know that all sounds par for the course, but the first two novels dont have that, which made this one all the better

I've read this Sherlock Holmes Mystery many times and it remains one of my absolute favourites. You really can't beat a classic murder mystery with Holmes and Dr Watson.

One of the benefits of the series is that you are constantly kept on your toes, and even when you have read it before, the writing keeps you tense and expectant.

As usual, a wonderful read for a weekend treat.
