I really enjoyed this alot more than I was expecting to. Having watched the series many years ago I eventually got around to picking up the books.

We got to know our main characters personalities but there are still some secondary characters in the main group that I feel like we don't really know.

The magic system seems really cool but as of yet there hasn't been alot of explanation as we are reading from Cassie's perspective and she is still learning what it means.

Overall 4 stars.

However a big negative (not writing related) is that this bind up stops half way through book 2 so the story just stops right as were getting into it and it doesn't read as if it was originally meant to be this way.

Paranormal White Problems.

This was cute, if a bit dated. I would have loved it when I was a preteen. May end up giving it to my preteen niece who loves witches and vampires.

The television show was amazing, so I thought the books would be also. I was wrong. Not only are the books completely different but they are rather terribly written. ALTHOUGH after watching the show I think it makes it easier to read the books because you can make connections every now and then. I was also able to visualize the characters, rather than read the much more average version of the characters in the book. Admittedly the further I got into the book the more I enjoyed it, but I don't think I would re-read this book nor would I be too excited to read another book by this author. I am continuing to finish this series purely because I want the secret circle story to conclude, which the show unfortunately didn't get to do :/

Cassie discovers she is a witch when she moves in with her grandmother. It seems like her new school’s elite are all witches too and she struggles to fit in with them. With a few murders taking place at her high school and the boy she likes being not-avelable her life is getting pretty exciting and dangerous. The first book is about her finding out about her past and the secrets of her new town. Trying to do the right thing and ending up being black-mailed from another member of her coven.

I really like the show on the CW, so I thought I would check out the books. I was a bit cautious because I am also a huge fan of the Vampire Diaries show but I just couldn't get into the books. I enjoyed the first two Secret Circle books much better than I did the Vampire Diaries book. I liked Cassie better as a character, thought the plot was stronger, and liked more of the characters better.

It's a lot different from the show. Nearly all of the characters either look or act different. It was really hard not to picture Cassie, Diana, and Adam as they are in the show, but Faye fit perfectly. The plot is also different, but I still enjoyed it. It was different and kept me interested.

There are twelve people in the circle though, so at times I found myself getting some of the lesser known characters mixed up. I really liked the characters of Cassie, Adam, Diana, and Faye. Faye seems darker in the books, but she's definitely one strong character. I'm very interested in seeing how the rest of the books go, so I've added them to my to-read list.
