Good queer rep (all the pack members are queer).  The Omega who is our FMC and a victim of abuse and comes out of a fundamentalist religious background and abuse is hiding from her family and ex. She is attracted to an alpha while working at a wedding for the florist shop she works for and the rest, as they say, is history.  The relationships are complex and I think the author does a great job of bringing those complexities to life as well as the complicated history on both sides.

i really enjoyed this book! i'm not usually an omegaverse reader, so the barking/purring thing was a little strange to me, but i'm certainly not here to yuck anyone's yum. i loved the dynamics in the pack - esp how they brought out lydia's feistiness? not quite the word i'm looking for but it'll do.
there were a couple of things that sort of broke my immersion. first, rhett's accent. i totally get what she was trying to do - introduce the accent first, then explain what the accent was. but it just didn't work for me. first i thought he was southern (esp since this was set it georgia), then i thought he was from boston. by the time we settled on irish, i was sorta done with the whole thing. i'm gonna add some direct quotes in spoiler tags here bc it's honestly kinda funny
“I hear tha’ word out your mouth one more time, I will bend you over and turn yer ass red,”

"And, so help me God, I ever cross paths wit tat bottom-feeding scum of a fucking alpha who hurt you, dere won’t be enough of ’im left ta bury.”

those are the only two i marked and tbh i think they're the worst/best. honestly i ended up picturing rhett as brynjolf (YES FROM SKYRIM OH MY GOD)
ANYWAY
the other issue? literally just them calling her uh, juices... cream.
i took psychic damage. every. time.
but yeah good book!
