Continuing to love the series for everything it is. The writing felt especially charming in this one and is one of the few flowery books that doesn't make me cringe and feels natural. But I usually value a strong plot with more action or structure. And I didn't find the villians very threatening. Still these are so enjoyable and bingeable! I really wish I had read these in my teens because I can see nostalgia just adding to the overall themes and energy that this series has.

With Blue’s mother missing, things are not quite going to plan. The hunt for Glendower continues, though it seems to be dragging on rather longer than seems necessary.
Having been left where we were at the end of book two, it felt rather unfair that so little focus is given to the ongoing search. We know each of the characters is working towards it in their own way, but nothing moves forward until much later. However, that doesn’t mean there aren’t things of interest taking place. It did, too often, feel as if we were being pushed into the next in the series where we may or may not get answers.
What really marks this series out is the dynamic between the characters. Once again Noah feels of minimal focus here, and we learn that Ronan’s dreaming has been going on for longer than he was aware. Blue continues to fight her feelings for Gansey, and Adam finally confronts his father. The appearance of Greenmantle was a little scary…but the closing stages definitely hint at problems to come.

My star rating of this changed radically on this reread. I honestly have no words for how this book makes me feel, and there‘s no way I can articulate myself well enough to review this properly.
It‘s just how every detail is so, so important - and how the characters are treated with so much care and love in their process of growth. It‘s all very dear to me.
