This book would make a great drinking game. Take a shot every time the author uses “sexy AF” or “swoon” and you might just get blacked out enough to think it’s well written.

Zero world building, not even the bare bones provided once the main character figures out what’s going on. Insta-love and insta-trust. It’s very obvious what’s going on to everyone but the main character. Lots of cringey, outdated references and pop culture.

I though for sure that I was reading a book written in 2008, not 2020. The internet slang (BFF/FML/AF) is very AOL messenger, and the text message conversations could not be more basic.

If you’re going to publish a mashup fan fiction of every other popular vampire series, maybe don’t mention those series by name in your work.

And if the only way to build a mystery in your book is to have every other character know what’s going on and simply refuse to tell the main character any of it, then you don’t have much of a mystery. And the final reveal, while hilarious, didn’t actually answer any of the questions or tie together any of the loose ends. Nor did the ending set up the next book to answer those questions any time soon.

While I loved the characters the book itself had me feeling like I was reading an even angstier version of Twilight. I've been told the next two books are a huge improvement, here goes nothing!
