This was a cute young adult love story with a lot of Indian cuisine and dancing. I found Radha’s mother to be a frustrating character but loved all the others. I think everyone was too hard on Jai. And the ending made me glad I don’t compete in the dance world. Overall I liked the story.

hmmm no strong feelings on this one, it was cute and fluffy and not really anything genre-defining or life-changing. It was also super short, which is how I read it literally during one school day? Like I started during second hour and finished during sixth, just reading between classes and for like half of lunch lmao, so it does get credit for getting me through that school day ig
I thought the characters were nice and all, and the plot was basic YA romcom-- it would probably be better as a movie tbh, since it's so dance-focused. There were a couple of scenes that made me cringe and seemed like the author's fanfic daydreams brought to life but I mean what else is the point of writing a book?? lmao still, it was a little too much disbelief to suspend for me.
The writing was a bit more juvenile than I was expecting, and it had this kind of bare-bones first-draft feeling? Very much suffered from empty-room syndrome. But again, it was cute, I love the cover, and it was nice to see other brown teenagers living their Bollywood romance lol

I loved this beautiful, sweet, funny book. I found myself yelling at Radha’s mom. Rooting for Jai to apply to college. And cheering on their Bollywood dance team. Throw in dishes that make my mouth water and you have a recipe for success.

As I was reading Radha & Jai's recipe for romance, I couldn't help but drool over the recipes described in the book. This was such a fun read. The beginning was kind of rocky with some scenes being wrapped up too quickly for my taste. But the story progressed into a much better version. I liked reading about the aspirations and fears Radha and Jai had and how well it was handled. The character growth was very well written.
If you are a fan of Bollywood movies with whirlwind romance, random bursts of dances and a happily ever after, you should definitely pick this one up.
