Confetti is a short poetry collection about life, hope, friendship, love/self-love and more. For me, this was the perfect collection to read at night while sitting on the couch with a cup of tea. The poems in combination with the beautiful art made this a really peaceful read. I flew through it and finished it within an hour and am really glad I read it! However, I did wish the collection was longer because I would’ve enjoyed reading more. My final rating for this collection is 3 stars because I couldn’t connect to a lot of poems and I rate poetry based on how it makes me feel, but the ones I did connect to really touched me deeply. Some of my favourite poems were “Beyond Words”, “What I Need”, “Utopia”, “Dear Mr. Anxiety” and “Beautiful Solitude”. You can read the poem “Beyond Words” below:

“Friendship
Isn’t always two people
Exchanging the goods
Or the bads
It isn’t always The beauty
Nor What’s hidden
Behind The mask
It isn’t always The laughter
Nor the quiet
Which fills up a room
But It creeps on you
Unsoundly and
Out of nowhere
And It’s The comfort
It’s The honesty
It’s The freedom
That lets you be”

CONFETTI by ZUZANNA SZOSTAK

First of all, I’d like to say a big thank you to @untranquilpoet for sending me her beautiful collection of poems. The cover is stunning and the photography inside adds to the atmosphere. What a huge achievement to have written a poetry collection and self-published it at the age of 19!

There are a handful of poems in here that are truly affecting and remind me of how I felt when I was younger. I especially admired Dear Mr Anxiety — unfortunately anxiety is still in my life and I recognised a lot of emotions displayed. The rest of the poems show potential for an exciting new writer and I really can’t wait to see what she does next.
