I read this book a lot when I was younger, and it's been awhile, but I remember really loving it. the main character is a bit of a pick-me, but overall it's really fun.

I loved this book! As soon as I finished the Violet series, I wanted more and waited patiently for this one. As soon as I started reading it, I couldn't stop! It was a great story with great characters.

Don’t be fooled by the ridiculous cover, Lovestruck Summer by Melissa C. Walker is a fantastic read pertaining more to indie music than to the beach. Main character Priscilla, known by everyone else as Quinn, has scored an internship at an indie label in Austin. So she packs her bags and sets out for Texas, spending the summer at her cousin Penny’s apartment. Did I mention Penny is a sorority girl whose nickname is ‘Party Penny’? Quinn is definitely in for an ‘interesting’ summer.

Cute and fun read, but really predictable. I love the banter between Quinn and Russ. Quinn's prejudice really bugs me though. Definitely a nice beach read!Actually I kind of think this was a bit like Pride and Prejudice in a very very distant way.

Finally! A book set in Austin, and by one of my favorite authors, no less! Full of music, a confused girl trying to figure out who she is and what she wants, and lots of awesome landmarks around this great city, I thoroughly enjoyed this book!

The main character was clueless and super judgmental, though she did improve as the story progressed. Liked the setting (Austin Texas) and the secondary characters. The ending was really cheesy and I wasn’t wild about either guy in the love triangle.

**read for book scavenger hunt - a book that takes place in summer**

I read this one as part of the 48 Hour Book Challenge. I thought it would be a quick read, which it was, but I found myself taking it slower because I didn't want it to end. I LOVED it! I've been in a reading slump the last week or so and Melissa Walker helped me get out of it and find a book where I was totally drawn in.

Quinn is great-she's this cool indie music girl, and I could totally relate to her. I wanted to be the indie music girl in college (my undergrad degree is actually in Communications/Radio) and I spent a semester studying music biz on Martha's Vineyard. I was pulled back to my college years of concerts, music conversations and crushes on indie music band boys. The thing I loved about Quinn is that she is kind of girlie-even if she doesn't want to admit it. :)

And then there's Russ-sigh. So cute, so funny, and totally crush worthy! All the supporting characters had depth and were interesting and I felt like I really got to know everyone, which I really enjoyed.

The cover may look like a typical chick lit romance, but this has so much more. Yes, it's a romance, but even if you usually snub romance, I would suggest picking this one up. It's more a story of Quinn, her crazy summer, what she learns about people and there just happens to be some very hot boys! It's the perfect book to kick off your summer. I will definitely be re-reading this one.
