A laugh-out-loud-on-the-subway book about a bear who finds a manuscript in the woods and decides to get it published. It's a satire not only of academia and publishing, but humanity, too.

I wanted to read a lighthearted, funny book and I thought this might be it. But I didn't find it all that funny. It is about a bear who finds a manuscript hidden under a tree in the woods and dons a suit, brings the manuscript to New York, and is somehow mistaken for the human who wrote the novel.

Didn't like I, didn't find it funny but contemptuous with all its characters. The bear was okay and sometimes kinda funny, but honestly nothing hilarious or even subtle.

Oh my god, this was absolutely hilarious. Told in a straight-faced narrative, a BEAR finds a manuscript under a tree, passes it off as his own writing, and hits the publishing world like a rocket. Loved it!
