I think this one is so good to definitely make you want to read more but on it’s own I don’t think it’s that strong, I love Hagrids description it makes you love him so quickly! The introduction of Ron and Hermione is lovely, the bushy and ginger hair too cute.

I mean, it's Harry Potter. Enough said. The journey starts here. You can tell this first book was written with a child audience in mind, with the fun, random events, things, and experiences that are given attention and mention as ways to make the wizarding world real (vs move the plot along). A true masterpiece in world building, and world experiencing. Anyone re-reading will delight in finding cleverly woven clues and hints at future events (even ones that happen in future books), a nod to the forethought that went into planning the full story of Harry Potter.
