Maybe I'm not in the mood for this or the wrong person for this story but it dragged, a lot. I liked them together in the end but wow, long way there. Would have been better as a novella. This might be a mood thing.
Not the right audience. When I was 21-22 years old, I dated a T-7 injury person with paraplegia and a lot of the issues were just not something I wanted to go through again. It dragged and didn't really get anywhere. The sit ski was the most interesting thing about the whole pages devoted to therapy. So, not the right audience but from other reviewers, they were not the right audience either as they had the same dragging feeling.
I did like the characters in the end but thought the doctor pushed away too much without talking. I really don't like this trope especially with strong smart women. A little too YA attitude from a doctor.

Really enjoyed this early Bowen with Hank, a medal contender for the Olympics who suffered a spinal cord injury while competing. This is the second romance by Bowen featuring an MC who uses a wheelchair, and it's also the first I've ever read where erectile dysfunction is covered on the page, since Hank comes to accept his insecurities and talks to fellow study participants about "Dr. Dick," a urologist who loves to talk about dicks. lol.
I also appreciated how Bowen showed us the economic disparities between Callie and Hank growing up when Hank asked her how she never learned to ski growing up as close as she did to Lake Tahoe, and how those differences shaped their personalities. Callie's still saddled by $200K of student debt so she's always followed all the rules and worked hard because she had to in order to succeed, which is still pretty uncommon in romance.

Bowen packs A LOT into this short novel, including a whole lot of heat. What I most appreciated was that the hero is not magically cured, but instead is allowed to deserve and find love as someone who uses a wheelchair. #HappilyEveryoneAfter
